GALAR, a private company is the manufacturer and supplier of semiconductor and optical materials, including monocrystalline silicon, A3B5 and A2B6 compounds as well as hyper-pure source substances.

GALAR was established on the base of the former Pure Metals Works (Svetlovodsk, Ukraine), inheriting more than 40 years of manufacturing and scientific experience. The base factory was created as a diversified manufacturing site for semiconductor materials, encompassing source substance purification process technologies, crystal growing & processing techniques, epi-layer deposition processes and device manufacturing. By late 1980's, the Pure Metals Works had achieved a maximum of its total production volume, while production of gallium arsenide crystals became the largest in Europe. By that time, the commercial production of CdHgTe (CMT) crystals won the leading place in the world both by quantity and quality-based criteria.

By keeping the best creative scientific tradition of the past years, GALAR stands up actively for its proper place in the electronic materials, optics and optoelectronics market. GALAR products are delivered to many countries of the world, which can be viewed as the best proof of product quality and stable partnerships.

GALAR is the only specialized manufacturer in Ukraine taking advantage of the full-cycle approach, from purification of source substances all the way to end products with deep recovery of semiconductor waste and recycling of non-recoverable waste.

The existing wide range of company's products and the ever tightening quality requirements make it necessary for the company to work in co-operation with scientific research centers both inside and outside Ukraine. Development of process technologies to obtain materials with better parameter values and improvement of the existing product quality control system are the priority objectives for the company.
